Administration Coordinator

About the business

WestWind Energy is an Australian company dedicated to the development, construction, operation and management of cost effective renewable energy generation in Australia. About the role

This is a newly created role, due to growth within the company. We’re looking for a document/information management superstar who can provide administrative support to our project teams and back-up to our Receptionist and Accounts Manager.

This role will be located at our head office in Gisborne, with ample parking and close proximity to shops and services. WestWind Energy support staff development with ongoing training and encourage staff to develop and grow within the company.

Skills and experience

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is degree qualified
  • Has a high level of attention to detail
  • Has a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar administrative role, ideally with a document or information management focus  and/or contracts management
  • Has experience in writing office procedures and taking meeting minutes

Reception and/or accounts experience would be highly regarded.

Project Engineers (x2)

About the role

To be considered for this role, you must have an understanding of project delivery, and it is important that you are able to work independently but also within teams and enjoy building relationships. You need to demonstrate critical thinking and strong time management, as you will be managing competing priorities. You will enjoy taking ownership over your project tasks, ensuring deadlines are met.

One of the roles will have a strong GIS focus, so you will need to demonstrate GIS skills and experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the monitoring and development of project plans.
  • Able to establish and maintain strong working relationships across all stakeholder groups both internal and external.
  • Correlation between maps and onsite features to ensure factual correctness using reports, aerial photography, physical site truthing, GPS and relevant software systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of topical presentations for the development team.
  • Assist with the production and assessment of development designs, studies and reports.
  • Attend project and development team meetings and provide timely project updates and reports to management.
  • Liaison with other project stakeholders, including community engagement and communications and actively updating the customer relationship management system.
  • Assist in supporting project administration tasks as delegated by the project development team.
  • Assist in the management external project consultants to ensure all relevant surveys, wind monitoring campaigns and site works comply with relevant regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with landholders to facilitate site access and achieve efficient and practical design solutions.

Skills and experience

Required experience and qualities:

  • 1-3 years experience.
  • Qualifications in engineering (civil/mechanical), planning or environment.
  • One of the roles will have a strong GIS focus, so robust GIS skills and experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Community Engagement Officer

About the role

We’re looking for a Community Engagement Officer with a proven ability to build rapport and long-term relationships with local communities to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis. This role will suit someone living in or close to the Golden Plains Shire, who is able to work from home, as it will be focussed on community engagement to support the Golden Plains Wind Farm development. It will involve occasional travel to our head office in Gisborne. The role will offer flexibility in work hours for the right candidate, starting at 15 hours per week.

This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for implementing community consultation programs for our wind farm developments with the aim of developing positive and constructive relationships with landholders, neighbours and the wider community.  Key relationships include working with colleagues, landholders, project neighbours, local businesses, local government, and community groups.
