WestWind Energy is delighted to announce that local resident Meryl Brumpton has been employed for the role of Community Liaison and Land Tenure Officer in Roma. The role will support the Bottle Tree Energy Park as well as other WestWind projects across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Marla Brauer, Chief Development Officer for WestWind Energy said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Meryl to the team. Her extensive experience working with and advocating for the local community made her the ideal candidate. We believe her passion for the community and local knowledge is key to delivering successful projects for all.’

With a strong background in community health and education, Ms. Brumpton said she was excited to take on the role with WestWind.

‘They are a highly successful renewable energy developer who prioritise quality consultation. I am looking forward to building positive relationships for WestWind with local landholders and community members.’

‘I am particularly keen to share information about the project and address any concerns or questions from the community. An initial priority for my role will include engagement and collaborating with local community members to develop the project’s Community Reference Group and Community Benefit Scheme, which can provide incredible benefits back to the region.’

Meryl is excited to hear from community members and can be reached via WestWind Energy’s office on (03) 5421 9999 on Mondays and Thursdays. WestWind welcomes suggestions and ideas, so please book an appointment to meet Meryl and discuss how she can best serve the community through the development of Bottle Tree Energy Park.

Meryl’s appointment underscores WestWind’s commitment to employing locally and openly sharing information about the Bottle Tree Energy Park. In support of this, WestWind has also launched the project’s website which includes information about the project. It can be found at

WestWind is also committed to providing meaningful benefits back to the community. This is being demonstrated through Bottle Tree Energy Park’s sponsorship program which includes a recent sponsorship for Roma’s Easter in the Country.

Bottle Tree Energy Park will play a pivotal role in addressing the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change. By harnessing the power of wind, the clean energy generated by this project is expected to power more than 200,000 Queensland homes with clean, low-cost electricity and save 900,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
