Introduction
Located in Gisborne, Victoria, WestWind Energy is recognised as one of Australia’s leading wind energy developers. With more than 2,000 megawatts of projects in operation or under construction, we are the largest wind farm developer by approved megawatts in Victoria.
We also have a pipeline of projects totalling a further 9,000 megawatts in various stages of development across Australia.
In 2024, we commenced development of WiRES, a renewable energy transmission solution to help unlock green energy in Victoria’s Wimmera region.
Our history
WestWind Energy Pty Ltd was established in Australia in 2004 at the invitation of the Federal and Victorian Governments. Decades of experience in the local market has shaped our in-depth understanding of the Australian renewable
energy sector.
Building on WestWind Energy Group’s international expertise and adapting it for Australia has enabled WestWind Energy Pty Ltd to establish a strong reputation for successful development of renewable energy projects, underpinned by industry-leading quality engagement.
WestWind Energy Management was also established in 2004 to extend our service offering through to construction, operation and asset management services.
Our priorities
Alongside generating renewable electricity, our goal is to minimise the impact of
our operations on air, water, land and wildlife. Of equal importance, we care about the communities where our projects are located. We are committed to engaging proactively from project development right through to the operations phase.
