First Nations Engagement Strategy to strengthen cultural capability
3 December 2025
WestWind Energy is proud to announce the release of its First Nations Engagement Strategy.
Managing Director, Tobi Geiger, states “the Strategy sets a clear direction for how we will strengthen our cultural capability, build meaningful relationships, and work respectfully with First Nations communities across all stages of our projects”.
“This is a deliberate and foundational step in beginning our formal reconciliation journey – one that is people-centred, locally grounded, and built on genuine partnership.”
Developed in consultation with First Nations Advisory experts, GIRA, the First Nations Engagement Strategy provides a framework for respectful, transparent and culturally informed engagement.
It includes clear commitments to strengthen internal awareness and capability as well as practical initiatives – including cultural learning, participation in National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC Week, and lifting First Nations participation in employment, procurement, and engagement.
Further, the Strategy provides guidance on how WestWind will embed First Nations leadership, cultural authority and values into project planning, design, and delivery.
Tobi says the launch of the Strategy “is the beginning of an ongoing journey”.
“The actions we take now will shape the legacy we leave – within our organisation, within the communities we work alongside, and across Australia’s clean energy transition.”
