Does lightning present a fire risk?

Wind turbines can be struck by lightning because they are tall structures.

A great deal of research has gone into developing lightning protection systems for wind turbines and the risk of fire resulting from a lightning strike is therefore extremely low.

A modern turbine will often continue running after a direct strike and following relevant technical inspections.
