What maintenance is required on wind turbines?

During a wind farm’s operation phase, turbines are regularly serviced – typically every 12 months – depending on the design of the particular turbine.

This will include activities like visual inspection, blade maintenance, lubrication of bearings, gearbox checks, electrical system testing and sensor monitoring.

The wind turbines are installed with sophisticated smart systems that constantly monitor their condition in real time, helping maintenance teams spot and fix issues or replace parts early to reduce downtime, and keep turbines running efficiently.
